welcome to kindergarten!

A construction year is an especially exciting year at Sheldon Christian. As we remodel and add on to our
school, we have a visible object lesson of the work God is doing in our lives. Every year He is faithfully
working on every student and staff member to make us who He want us to be! I am excited for our
chapel theme, “Under Construction” which will help us look at the changes God is working in us!
Kindergarten is a year of visible academic growth as well. The students come in knowing their letters
and leave reading and writing! It is amazing to watch! In Math, we learn numbers, addition and
subtraction, and more. We enjoy seeing God in science and learning how He keeps His promises
through Bible stories. We round out our days with Social Studies, handwriting, art, PE, Music, story
time, library and more.

My hope for my students is to set the foundation for learning and faith. My class clip is “Heart and
Hands.” Heart: I want my students to understand how much God loves them and that they need Jesus in
their hearts. God also wants them to develop a heart for others. Hands: I want my students to know
that they are always held in their Heavenly Father’s hands and that they are called to use their hands to
serve others. So the heart of the matter is that they are loved by God in order to love Him and others.

Kindergarten will be moving to the basement classroom for the start of the year. We will look forward
to moving to our new classroom upon its completion!

My Hope for my students is to set the foundation for learning and faith.
